I looked back at my art journal for painting ideas this week. I realized I was still thinking through the same ideas I had been thinking through 3 years ago. It was eye opening. Why hadn't I moved forward from these in 3 years? So this week I just started trying those ideas. I tried to stop "thinking" my way through the ideas and start "working" my way through them. The takeaway is that you will refine YOUR focus as an artist. Some of the ideas were inspirations from other artists and they didn't fit me. They certainly might work for some one else, but not for me. Even my own ideas yielded until expected results once I started working on them. So as a reminder for myself...sometimes you just have to do it. Find your own way, but you have to start the journey to get anywhere.
Here's a few shots of the studio and what's in progress.
